DON POVIA | CLASS OF '97

INDUCTED: SEPTEMBER 12, 2014




Don Povia is one of Nottingham's most illustrious athletes. He earned six varsity letters -- in football, baseball, and track. As a junior and senior, he twice won selections by The Times and Trentonian on the First Team All-CVC as a wide receiver. In 1996, the Newark Star Ledger selected him to the All-State Group III First Team At the completion of his senior year, Don held six Nottingham varsity football receiving records, which included both career and season receptions. He was then honored by the Delaware Valley Chapter of the National Football Foundation at it College Hall of Fame at its annual scholar-athlete awards dinner where he was chosen runner-up.

After graduating from Nottinghham, Don went on to to earn a BA in Political Science and History from Monmouth University, where he played football for the Hawks. Don also earned a master's degree from George Washington University, and is the creator of a "First-of-its-kind" sports and news media conference series. Recognized as a leader and expert in the online fields, Don works as a communications consultant with both sports and politically-focused clients.

Don resides in Hamilton Township with his wife Angela and their two daughters, Eleanor and Anna.
